Re: TV in Bedroom

before there were flat screens, I said nay just because I thought they were too bulky and an eyesore on a dresser.

Now that they are all LCD, I say YAY!
We just hung ours on the wall. It doesn't take up any space and you hardly notice it.

Re: TV in Bedroom

Yay! DH stays up late so I like falling asleep next to him, even if he is up watching TV.
Also it is nice to watch a movie on the weekends in the morning!

Re: TV in Bedroom

Yay. We are both TV junkies, and like to watch TV in bed, and while getting ready for work and for bed.

No.

When we moved into our house, DH mentioned getting one once and I told him that studies show that a couples' sex life decreases by 28% when they have a television in their bedroom. I totally made this up, but he dropped the idea immediately and has not mentioned it since.

ABSOLUTELY! Chat Icon

My favorite way to relax is to lay in bed watching TV with my laptop in front of me while lurking on LIF! Chat Icon

Nay for me! (but we have a small one in DH's armoire so he can watch). I like complete silence and a dark room to fall asleep. DH loves to fall asleep with the TV on. Luckily, I usually am in bed before DH, so he ends up watching TV in the living room and then coming to bed.

You were being conservative even!

Couples who keep a TV in the bedroom have sex half as often as those who don't, according to psychologist and sexologist Serenella Salomoni.

Re: TV in Bedroom

Yes!

I love having it because I watch the news in the morning when im getting ready for work.

We dont use it too often because DH and I usually watch TV in the living room, but we like to be able to watch a little bit before bed or if I cant fall asleep.

Re: TV in Bedroom

YAY! We have one for when one of us is sick, or if we're so tired, but want to watch TV in bed. Mainly, though, we use it in the morning to watch Traffic and Weather, so we can be prepared when we step outside to head to work.

Re: TV in Bedroom

Yay.

I've always had one, even when I lived at my parents' house.

DH HAS to have the tv on in order to fall asleep. I can't stand it, but he tosses and turns and is a grouch without it.

Not too sure if/when we'll put at tv in DS's room. He's only 4 months old, so it's not a concern right now though.

Yay, but only because I need it to fall asleep. Other than that, we never watch tv in the bedroom.

Re: TV in Bedroom

Yay! Especially since my DH works very early in the AM, this way we can hang out in bed with the TV on, and he can pass out. Chat Icon Otherwise I would be by myself in the den or living room!

This is what I'm hoping will be the case. To have it in the room for saturday night live or when one of us is sick. I just don't want it to be on every night till 2 in the morning.

Re: TV in Bedroom

Absolutely! I couldn't sleep without a TV in my bedroom. I have to fall asleep to the TV but I put it on a timer and am usually asleep before it turns off.

My DH doesn't really like the TV being on at night but I told him from the start of our relationship that I have to sleep with the TV on.

Re: TV in Bedroom

Yay! I couldn't live without it. DH and I both agree that we have it.

I have friends and relatives whose DHs fall asleep on the couch so they can watch TV, their wives don't allow TV in the bedroom. Chat Icon

Re: TV in Bedroom

we used to have one in the bedroom but when we moved into our house, I decided absolutely not, and hubby fights with me constantly about it.

I have to say that b/c we do not have it in the bedroom, when we get to bed, we sleep much better. We're no longer lounging around trying to fall asleep and turn the tube on to help us do that.

We watch in the living room or the den and when we start getting tired, we head to the bedroom and read or chat...and it does the trick.

There have been scientific studies stating you sleep better and get more REM sleep when you only sleep in bed (ie: don't watch tv / don't lounge around / don't study, etc.)

Nay! When we moved into our house we decided to skip the TV in the bedroom and 5 years later still very happy with that decision.
