So depressed - DH working on Christmas
I was so excited to be hosting Christmas in our new house this year. DH works the midnight shift & always worked the holidays. this year the way schedule worked out he was going to be off Christmas night. but now because of the weather they put him on 12 hr shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) including Christmas Eve AND Christmas Day. so when he is home he will be cathing up on sleep 
i know in this economy i should be happy he is working. but there are certain things money can't buy. i know my family will be around me but it just won't be the same.
just needed to vent.

 My DH works every holiday unless it happens to fall on his regularly scheduled day off (which happens almost never), so I feel you. Add to that the fact that my birthday is Christmas day and DH is working... honestly, doesn't really bother me after all these years. We make the most of it when he gets home and focus on that. Merry Christmas!!

DH usually works on holidays too. he owns a restaurant and they never close. this is the first year since we've been married (5 years) that he happens to be off on christmas!!!!! even so, he had to go in this morning to help them out, but im hoping he'll be home by 11:30-12 so we can open presents with DS!

thanks, he did end up waking up a little early so he can have Christmas dinner with us. but it was rushed. after he gets off this crazy shift we will celebrate
