How long does it take for the antibiotics to work?
Yael started tugging on her ear on Sunday. I took her to the pediatrician on Tuesday and he said her ear was red and inflamed, and it looked like the start of an infection so he prescribed antibiotics, which I started Tuesday night.
Well, it's Thursday already, and she's STILL tugging on her ear and crying. When will this get better??

There is probably fluid in it, that's what hurts the most...Unfortunately the antibiotic won't help that. I know it sucks. I hope she feels better soon...Can you give her tylenol?

I don't think the antibiotics help with the pain. She might need some tylenol too. It takes a few days for the antibiotics to work.

It took about two days. My doc told me to give him baby motrin for the pain when he was tugging. She said it works better than tylenol.

I've been using tylenol because the doc said the motrin could further irritate her already sensitive tummy, so maybe that's why she's still in some pain. It seems to be a little better this AM, so here's to hoping that she'll be better by the end of today!
