Would your bring your infant to the doctor...

If she's had a cold for 4+ weeks? DD is 20 months and has had a cold on and off (mainly on) for almost 4 weeks now.

She has a bad runny nose (not clear) and she coughs in the middle of the night. Other than that, she's fine. She sleeps well, plays like normal and has been eating pretty normal. She hasn't had a fever since the first onset of the cold (Thursday before Thanksgiving). I took her to the pediatrician then and was told that we have to let it run its course (her ears and throat were clear).

I've used saline nose drops, I've used the nasal aspirator thing, I've done the vicks, I have the humidifier and I have the vaporizer.

My toddler is 2 now and around October had a runny nose (clear) for probably 3 weeks. No other signs of a cold except an occasional cough.

He seem totally fine otherwise so I just rode it out because I figured it was teething (darn 2 yr molers) . It did just go away. I didnt take him to the dr but I am generally more laid back in that way, unless he gets bad I usually just let his system do the work.

i would. not that long ago, my dd had what i thought was a very minor cold. she had had a clear runny nose for about 10 days, and a cough for maybe 3. she was completely herself, happy, not at all cranky, ate fine, etc. everything was perfectly normal. i decided to take her just to be safe, and it turned out she had a double ear infection that was pretty bad. apparently that can happen when they have a runny nose for so long.

I would just to be safe- although there are some nasty viruses out there that are taking forever to clear up.

DD has had a runny nose and a cough now for weeks too- we took her to the doc last week- the day we brought DS home- and was told she was clear- it's pretty annoying- but it is what it is.

maybe try children's claritin? I gave it to DD every day and it seems to help her - maybe she's allergic to something...

After 4 weeks, I would. I would want them to make sure her ears and chest are clear, since it's been hanging on so long. I feel better safe than sorry.
