Canoes are cool! I would love one (like 3 years ago), but I also am PG and have a 3year old and if my DH brought that home for xmas, I think I would cry. Maybe it is the nesting thing.. but I know we are tight for $ and I asked only for a watch.

This is his first Christmas as a homeowner with a garage.
He probably wishes it was a kayak...but is turning it into family gift as canoe.
He is dying to put something in garage.
I can't worry about it...a canoe will go back.

I am here Janice, but in all honesty, I'd tell him very clearly, if he bought a canoe he better bring it back and get something more functional.
My DH is the same way-he'll buy something I don't want, and then when I tell him in the moment, he gets hurt and upset. I've started telling him way before hand- you can get me xyz, anything else I will be upset.
And if he still ends up getting it, I totally want to see pics

I stumbled upon this (bc DH buys me "him" gifts also  ) and I am dying. This is possibly the funniest thread ever.
I would kill him. After our christmas last year, DH knows to stick to my "list "

I am laughing so hard I'm wheezing... I know you are upset over this- just as I would be. However, this is so funny to me because this is totally something DH would do/has done NUMEROUS TIMES. I guess on the rare occasions it doesn't happen to you, it is funny.
I can't wait to hear what you really get!! I'm praying it isn't a canoe!

I know I shouldn't be laughing at this but . I'm totally picturing an angry pregnant woman sitting under a Christmas tree in a canoe!
You are definately not being preggo & moody! We live on a budget too & I struggle to save whenever I can. Our savings account is for the future & emergencies only, so if DH went in there for a gift, I'd be expecting something I really wanted too. This is why I went to Amazon.com, ordered the digital camera I wanted for myself & then turned to DH & said "Thank you for my Christmas gift!" I hope hubby is just trying to throw you off track!

Last year this time, I was so sad not to be pregnant, DH worked, and we had no family around.
This year, happy, healthy, pregnant, 6 of my 7 siblings coming and my parents.
