anyone convert the crib into a bed and back into a crib bc DC wasn't ready?

as I posted I converted DD's crib into a toddler bed few days ago, well it didn't go so well, she was still fighting going to sleep, falling off the bed and waking up in the middle of the night and finally falling asleep again hours later (after crying,whining,playing for 2-3 hrs) after this she'd just fall off the bed AGAIN and sleep on the floor (I found her on the floor every single morning last few days). So I don't think she is ready for a toddler bed yet , plus it didn't help with going to bed without screaming and crying so I just converted it back into a crib. need to figure out a way to get her to go to sleep and stay asleep. she is going through something and I don't know what it is

Could she be having nightmares? DS has been doing this, and he's still in his crib. I think he's afraid of being alone in the dark. You also moved recently, she may just be upset over the change in the room. If you don't need to remove her from the crib, I would leave her in it a bit longer till she's sleeping well again.

Here's what i'm thinking of trying with DS soon, when his sleep is back on a more even keel. I am planning on leaving the crib intact in his room and letting him sleep on his crib mattress (or the bed mattress if we buy it) on the floor. It is big enough for him still, and I figure if it really doesn't go well, we can go back to the crib easily. Or if he has certain nights when he wants the crib, he can still go in it. If he's happy sleeping on the mattress, then he's probably ready for a toddler bed.

Maybe this isn't ideal either, but I think DS has trouble with changes and doing it gradually without completely changing the look of his room may help.

Ahhh, DS is similar, though he's fine in his crib by himself--he just doesn't want to be alone. I think it's a 2 year old thing--something to do with them realizing they are separate people from us and wanting to be independent, but wanting Mom and Dad nearby at the same time.

Hopefully she starts sleeping again soon! I would probably keep her in the crib longer if she isn't climbing out or if you don't need it for another child.

It is hard though--at times I feel like I rarely see DH these days since one of us is in his room with him at night.

OMG I know! I feel the same . so hard to know what to do. I think she is just going to stay in the crib for now .
