I know I am overreacting, but I am freaking out...
I was bathing my daughter, and she slipped and her face went under for a second.. I got her up immediately, and she seriously gasped for air... coughed a couple of times, sounded like she was going to vomit but didnt, and then was fine like nothing happened...
of course, i search the internet, and now im freaking out about something called dry drowning... am I just scaring myself sh*tless? I dont know what to do.... HELP!!!!!

this "dry drowning" that you are talking about.. it happened to me with one of my sons :(... We were swimming in the pool in Mexico on vacation and he had a tube.. the one that goes all the way around the waist.. he flipped forward and went under.. my husband grabbed him out and he did what your daughter did.. choked.. vomited.. all that. After that he seemed ok but he was very lethargic. He fell asleep about an hour later a very deep sleep and stopped breathing. His heartrate went very irregular at that time also.. IT was the scariest thing in the world. My husband and I are both NICU nurses and are well capable of resuccitation but i froze.. thank god for my husband my son is ok. this is VERY VERY rare and the symptom that you have to watch for is if she is very extremely weak and lethargic. My kids have gone under the water in other situations like in the tub or the pool and while it's scary it's ok.. Just keep a close eye on her and if she seems overly lethargic get her checked out..
