charlie horses/leg cramps in calves
does anyone get them? what do you do to get rid of them?

I read that it means you should add more potassium rich foods into your diet.
I eat a lot of bananas & I am 32 weeks now and have ony had cramps maybe 3 times but I don't know if it's really because of the bananas or not.

Also you may need to drink more water - it can be a sign of dehydration as well.

Drink more water
Eat a banana daily (closer to bed time)
And when it does happen...stretch your foot up towards your heart to help relieve it faster.

If none of that helps my dad has a home remedy. He's had leg cramps for years and he read about this in the newspaper. It sounds pretty crazy but it actually works.
You put a bar of soap underneath your sheet at the foot of your bed by your legs. It has to be a specific brand, and I'm not sure what that is, but FM me if the bananas and water don't work and I can get the name of the soap from my dad.

First of all, make sure DH is ready and able to help you "unfreeze" your foot if it happens in the middle of the night!  When I got them bad, I would make Chris push my foot back because it was so bad I couldn't do it!
THe other thing I do is make sure I am not pointing my toes at night when I move around... as much as I can help it. When I point my toes, that's when the charlie horses start to take over.
(this is in addition to the suggestions of more water and bananas!)

i get my DH to get a soda bottle and put it in the arch of my foot in the middle of the night that seems to help.. i had this discomfort. I will drink and eat those bananas
