question about dress costs

how much do you think a cleaner would charge to:

-clean a chiffon bridesmaid gown
-and alter it to a cocktail dress

I have a black-tie optional wedding in a couple of weeks and can't afford to go out and spent $100 on a dress. I was recently in my sister's wedding and have a dress. Not sure if it will look ok shortened though.

Thanks!

Re: question about dress costs

just shorten should be more then $25

cleaning $10

you can have them give you a price and then decide if it's worth it

and they can pin it so you can see how it looks

post a pic...we can give you our opinions

Kerry,

If its black tie optional, why not just keep it long?

Re: question about dress costs

From the way you're describing the dress, IMHO, I don't think a cornflower blue chiffon dress would be appropriate for this time of the year. The color and the material of the dress sounds more like spring/summer. KWIM? I could be totally wrong though since I haven't seen the dress.
