Re: Clothes post baby
Ugh-- I wore my elastic waistband maternity pants (not secret fit belly) for a few months after the baby! I typically wore sweats, though, and only broke out jeans if I was going out. Finally at 6 months PP, I got back to my normal pants and then at 7 months PP, I went down a size and that is where I am now!
Definitely get the Old Navy nursing tanks -- I still wear them and love them!

Re: Clothes post baby
I wore sweats mostly. They were ones I already had, anything with an elastic waist was fine. When I went out I still had to wear maternity jeans for the first month or so. Then I bought regular jeans in a bigger size, but by 8wks PP I was back in my pre-pregnancy jeans.
For nursing def. get the tanks, I didn't discover them until later, I wish I had had them from the very beginning!

Re: Clothes post baby
I wore lounge / yoga / PJ pants and shorts. I was wearing my maternity jeans for like 2 months after. I pumped BM for the first 6 wks and I wore a nursing bra at all times because my bb's were heavy and leaking. It felt great though to finally buy some regular clothes again!

Re: Clothes post baby
You really have to see how your body will bounce back. I was back in my regular jeans a week after I gave birth and until then I wore my pj bottoms and nursing tanks which I got at Target and loved them! I saved them for #2.

Re: Clothes post baby
I wore the Target nursing tanks with maternity yoga pants 24/7 in the month after I gave birth....gradually switched to nonmaternity yoga and track pants as the maternity ones got too big.

Re: Clothes post baby
There was no way I was putting on Maternity clothes. I just got some lounge wear in a size Large and was comfy. I also got some other elastic waisted stuff too. I just wanted to be comfy.

Re: Clothes post baby
I wore my regular (non-maternity) jeans even when leaving the hospital. I was back to PP weight, but my stomach was (and is) a little more saggy, but it just shifts around the waist bands. I wanted to feel attractive when we had visitors, so I always wore jeans instead of loungewear (though when we were home alone I wore PJ pants...but that's what I do all the time anyway).

Re: Clothes post baby
Nursing bras & sports bras were a must! My boobs hurt so much...I needed to wear (and still do) wear a bra every minute...also when I sleep.
I also got a bunch of nursing tanks from Target - love them!

Re: Clothes post baby
DS was born in December so we really never left the house. I couldn't stay in my pjs all day because I would feel like a slob. I wore yoga pants or maternity jeans or cords and a sweatshirt. It helped me do this right away because I was already in a routine of showering, makeup, getting dressed when I was finally able to take him out. Good Luck!

I'm wearing my regular sweatpants. I bought a few sets from Gap and Express before I had the baby.

I found it helpful to shower and put on real clothes. I wore my maternity jeans/cords with zip up sweatshirts, with a sports type nursing bra or a nursing tank.
I was still comfy, looked presentable and was not sitting around in PJs.
This is exactly what I did, and I EBF. One of my friends gave me the best advice - always take a shower. Do your hair, put on a little make-up if you want while the baby naps...you will feel so much more like yourself after you give birth.
I wore my maternity pants for 2-3 months after I had DD, so I just wore them with a top. I went to Wal-Mart and bought a few Hanes long-sleeved tees to wear with my maternity jeans. I wasn't wasting money on expensive tops that wouldn't fit me much longer than a few months.
I wore a sports bra when my breasts were engorged. I have to be honest...when your milk comes in, they are really sore - so I didn't want a lot of material/wires pushing on them. The sports bras were fine...I bought them at Target - I think a package of 2 Hanes sports bras were less than $10.
Good luck - you are in for the most amazing time in your life!!!!!
