offer with contingency?
Has anyone offered or accepted an offer with a contingency?
The house we are interested in has been on the market for a year. We are thinking that we would offer a low price with contingency of selling our house, but if we knew the price we could get the new house for, we would lower our price.
do you think it's worth a shot?

can't hurt and lowering your house once you find out about the new one might help you move it fast. Good luck!

Re: offer with contingency?
My baby sitter has an offer with a contingency and she won't sign it, but they have not had their house on the market for a year. It is worth a shot, if they don't want to do it, no harm no foul. If getting them to sign with it and you can lower your sale price, it seems like it might be the way to go.
Good Luck!
