closing thursday?!
i got the call it might happen thursday!! fingers crossed the seller is available!!!
any advice??

Oo! thats exciting!!!
check EVERYTHING -- turn the water on, check under all the sinks for leaks, look at all the important things (ie-boiler, hot water heater etc), if the seller needed to fix anything between the inspection and closing, make sure to check it out to see if he/she fixed what they said they were going to
be prepared that you could be there a long time! our closing took 6 hours

yea be prepaired for a long time to sit in closing, make sure you get your numbers earlier then two hours before closing like us so you can confirm everything is correct.

That is awesome!
I found out today that my file is with the underwriters now and that hopefully i will be cleared to close by Friday. What was your experience with that? How long did it take from the underwriters to being cleared to close?

Good Luck!
We closed in 45 minutes. Our lawyer said conventional mortgages are faster than FHAs. She also commented on how our bank was super organized.

it really depends on each bank and the lawyers. we had to have the appraiser come back and check to make sure we make our electric updates. after that it was about 2 weeks until we got our closing date. good luck!

So we got our sellers concession wrapped in the mortgage...Just found out that we need to pay an additional 5K tomorrow at the closing. The lawyer and mortgage guy assured us we were asking for enough....of course not. So annoyed!!
GRRRRRRRRR!!!

just bring your checkbook & a good pen.
it is very common to get the information from your lawyer (figures)the morning of your closing. he called me at 8;30 AM & the closing was @ 10:00 AM AND had to get to the bank to get certified check. they expected us to be late. but once we got there it went pretty smooth.
alot of people i know went through this. hopefully you will be the exception
