Put in an offer on a new house...
After our offer was rejected this week, we went out looking again tonight. And we found a house! It's in neighborhood I like better, with a layout I like more, a bigger and better backyard, and the asking price is $25K cheaper than the other one!!!
We put in an offer on the spot. We learned our lesson from the last time - we bid $20K under asking and made it clear to them that this was just a starting point. The owners said they'd get back to us tomorrow.
They're holding their first open house this weekend, and my realtor thinks they want to see if they get any bigger, better bites before they commit to our offer.
I'm so excited!!! I hope this works out.

Thanks! I actually like this one even more! It has a fireplace and the other didn't; it has an entry foyer; it has a den/playroom separate from the other living areas so kids can run around and not get in the way; it has a beautiful backyard and the other one had a hideous red patio that would have needed immediate work... I'm gushing, I'm sorry!

Sent you an FM with the details!
My realtor keeps saying, "you don't sell a house at an open house" so I'm trying not to be worried, but you know how it is when you love a house... you think it's the best house in the whole world and that anyone else would be crazy not to put in an offer on the spot like we did! I'm so nervous...

That is so great! Good luck!
We ended up pulling out of a house (annoying short sale story) and ended up finding a new house quickly that we love and should be hearing next week about a closing date. The first house just wasn't meant to be!

Thank you! We still haven't heard back from them. My broker thinks they really want to wait and see what happens at the open house tomorrow.
I hate waiting!

I was very happy that we put the offer in on a sunday and by Monday had our answer.
