Dining Room

I'm so torn with dining room furniture. Do most of you buy a full set, or individual pieces? I love this table and parson chairs from pottery barn, but I don't like the buffet that goes with the set. If you can just show me pics of your dining rooms...that would be great!

Re: Dining Room

I don't think ours will "match" - I really, really , really want a salvaged wood dining table from RH... and a dark color buffet and hutch.

I love all those tables from RH. One of my inspiration pics has that RH table.

Re: Dining Room

You don't have to match everything it should just compliment each other. You can def. use different woods tones. Like some dark furniture with white furniture.....just as an example. Do what you love and love in your home. It's your home and you should be comfortable in your home.

I know this isn't a DR, but you get the idea. Let me look for more pics.

How about these. These might not be your style, but I hope they give you some inspiration.

Re: Dining Room

i mixed 2 styles of chairs and a table - none were part of a "set" (i have pics in my album).....we don't have a side table or buffet table b/c we don't really have the room for one...but i probably wouldn't have matched that either....i don't like things when they are very matchy..

i think as long as the pieces compliment eachother it will look fine...

Ours will not match. I love combining different woods that work with each other.

Re: Dining Room

it doesnt have to match. personally i typically like when they do, but i have seen plenty of people whose dining room sets dont and they look great.

Mine is individual pieces as well...dining table and chairs are all pier 1. The console table is target and we stuck it there when we moved in and it hasn't moved since! Ideally I'd like to put something else there...same with the painting...its too small to be up that high but the people we bought from had a MONSTER piece of artwork! lol

Pier 1! I used to stalk them before DH would let me buy them. I went to the store twice to "visit" them. He gave in Chat Icon
