how do i paint?
the molding and trim white? do i have to use a primer + white paint?? thanks

normally no, but since your moulding is so dark already, yes Id prime it first.

We had really dark molding in our house (walnut) and we were able to paint it white by using an oil based white paint, no primer needed. In your case though, I think your molding is darker...is that black paint?

I would prime that as well as others mentioned. I have to say I like that look a lot, I find it very warm. I would leave it.

We had the same molding all over our house  And we FIRST tried to be lazy, and not prime and use 2 coats of BM, and it came out horrible. We had to redo and prime. Save yourself aggravation, prime it!

you will need to use primer and then paint. some piants say they have primer built into them but they don't work as well

Is that paint or stain? If its stain you may need to sand a little bit, then prime then paint.
