Housewarming Gift?
I am going to a Housewarming party in 2 weeks and I am looking for suggestions as to what to bring as a gift
My friend does not like wine.
I want to be sort of unique but don't want to spend a fortune.
She is not married and her kids have their dads name & she has her maiden name...(so things with last name probably won't work either)
TIA!

Re: Housewarming Gift?
I usually bring a large Yankee candle or go to the Seafarers Gift shop in Sayville and get something small- like nice coasters or a picture frame. They wrap everything so nicely there.

We revieced Yankee candles, some Halloween/fall decorations, fall hand towels...
but the BEST was this soft throw. It even matches our furniture perfectly :)

A gift basket w/ a hammer, screws, a flashlight, lightbulbs, etc. Silly things like that are always appreciated.

I am hearing about that more and more now. I think registering for a housewarming party is mainly for those who are not married or didnt have a bridal shower that need things, or simply their stuff is getting old and needs to be replaced.
We had a few people ask us where we were registered for ours but I just got married and had a bridal shower so I said no gifts!

That is my situation but I do not mind receiving gifts with the family name on them. I still think of us as the XXXX family even though XXXX is not my name.

Re: Housewarming Gift?
If they will use the martini glasses that is a nice idea.
also, my mom always told me when you go to somebody's new house you bring 2 good-luck items -- a loaf of bread, and a box of salt. The bread - so they never go without The salt - so they always have spice in their life

Re: Housewarming Gift?
American Flag Set.
Home Depot used to sell them. It's been a while so I'm not sure if they still do.
