Stop ringing the bell!!!
The other day I had a meltdown at the house...one kid vomiting, another screaming...the door bell rings.
I don't answer it.
It rings again.
I still don't answer.
The person opens my screen door and knocks on my front door (my fault, I left it open).
I'm so angry...I open it and she's there with a laptop...something about the census. I tell her I don't have time, give her a fake # and close the door.
She came back the next day, I was just pulling up in my car. I didn't get out. I waited for her to go away. I just want to get in my our house.
Today, my little one is sleeping...just put him down for a nap. The doorbell rings again. She opens the door and knocks on the inside door (I left it open again). Rings the bell again. Leaves.
I open the door after she's gone and there's a paper wedged in the screen door. "Call me at your earliest convenience".
Whatever...garbage.
10 minutes later...DING DONG.
HOLY CRAP.
Now my son is awake. Thanks census lady. You've ruined my day.
I take the paper that she wrote on out of the garbage and write a letter to her, just incase she comes back.
You're annoying. I'm not answering the door. Stop knocking on my door and ringing my bell. You're waking my baby.
It better not ring again.

i had my husband disconnect my doorbell 
i never have unexpected guests so i don't answer if i'm not expecting anyone. its wonderful!

I would have opened the door and screamed at her. I hate when people keep ringing the bell. If I didn't answer it the first time I am not going to answer it the second time!!!!!

Can't remember......Gail was her name though!
Menace to my sons napping all last summer when he was a newborn!! My DH tried to be nice & I felt harrassed for months....she would call like 5 times day sometimes!

I'm really sorry the census person woke your DC, but completing the census is ver important. Federal dollars coming to Long Island are based on those numbers. It is very important to get an accurate count.

The cablevision sales guy has rang my bell 5 times in 3 days. I am unsure what part of "we have Direct TV and we will NEVER switch" He does not get. Apparently he thinks my hubby is going to give him a different answer because he keeps wanting to have a word woth him

That's a WONDERFUL idea and I am going to have my DH do the same.
We have a 3 year old kid who roams the neighboorhood and she stands at my door and just rings my bell.

Ugh! I hate that! We get UPS deliveries often and they never need a signature but he always rings the bell and leaves the package, which sets off the dogs and wakes the baby!!!!
And once I was bombarded by two real estate ladies in my driveway as I was getting out with DS screaming at the top of his lungs when he was just about a month old and when I told them is was not a good time, they still went on with their speach. I was like are you serious?! And went into my house.
Some people are really just so annoying! You'd think that woman would have just left a note and left it at that.

Oh my gosh sooooo annoying get a clue lady-LOL Why are some people so annoying. I have telemarketers from this one place calling all the time (early late... waking DS up-uggh!!!) after I have repeatedly told them to stop and this is a private non-listed # finally I took to screaming and threatening them-I mean catch a clue. You try to be nice but sometimes people push you over the edge! especially when they don't stop!
Hope she doesn't come back! Good Luck.

To be fair, from what you wrote, the first time you said you didn't have time, then avoided her the other times. She's just doing her job. You didn't tell her not to come back, just that you didn't have time.
You have to assume that people will ring your doorbell during the day. It's just a fact of living in a society. If nobody answers after two rings, I (and most people, I think) assume that the bell isn't working (maybe their DH disconnected it or something... ), so they resort to knocking.
From what you've written, I don't see her doing anything wrong.
