Would you buy a USED
dinner plate?
One of DH's dishes broke (when we got married, we each kept our own set of dishes- I refuse to eat on DH's black bachelor plates, and he refuses to eat on my grandmothers flowered dishes. But I digress). Replacements.com has the same dish for $22, including tax and shipping. We both feel thats too much $$ for one dish. Ebay has the same dishes, 2 for $20 with free shipping, but they are used. The thought of used dishes kind of grosses me out, but I guess when you go to a restaurant in a sense you are eating on a used dish. Thoughts?

Re: Would you buy a USED
Wouldn't bother me at all. A dish is 'used' after using it once. But that's what washing is for

All plates are used.... except for the first time out of the box. I would definitely get them from ebay.

Re: Would you buy a USED
Absolutely!
It would be the same as eating out at a restaurant except you would KNOW the plate was cleaned because your cleaned it.

Re: Would you buy a USED
aren't the ones on replacements used too? i seem to remember my mom saying that when she tried to complete my grandmother's set....personally it doesn't matter to me as long as i clean it first!

Re: Would you buy a USED
A used dish would not bother me as much as setting my table with plates that don't match .
Skip the replacement dish and go buy a set you both like.

We actually do have a nicer set that we use when we have company. These are just our everyday dishes.

Re: Would you buy a USED
I'd def buy them... i mean if you eat out at restaurants where there is always someone diff eating off of those plates, utensils, and glasses, buying straight from one person shouldnt be that big of a deal
