Critters!

Our cats were stalking something last night so we investigated.

We heard some scratching from behind some moulding in the kitchen and the cats wouldn't leave the area.

Then they stalked the piano. We moved the piano (glad we did..yuck back there-get the vacuum) and there was a little field mouse. We got him out, trapped him and set him free.

Thought that was that and went about our biz. Cats meanwhile were still stalking the moulding in the kitchen. Sure enough scratching still happening.

We called an exterminator's service and left a message for today.

Today I hear nothing. Either the critter found it's way back out or it's dead.

I guess we could pull the moulding off and see what's going on but I'm a little afraid to find out.

Also, now we have to figure out where the critters came from.

I know when the weather gets cold critters look for warmth and can find a way into the house..but where to start?

We went to the basement right under the kitchen and didn't see anything.

You sound so calm about it.
A previous house I lived in had little mice. Ewww..i would turn on the lights and they would scurry. yuck.

Finding where they come from is always the mystery.

we've had crickets in our basement since we moved in about a month ago but never anywhere else in the house, well yesterday there 2 in the living part of the house. That always freaks me out.

Good luck finding the critters entrance.

I spoke to two exterminators. One wanted to but down tracking and poison



Suburban told me to set some traps and see how it goes.

I'll start there.
