Re: working moms..if you shower in the AM
Oh the morning routine...
I get up at 6 and take a shower. DS #2 is usually still sleeping, or already up and then I put him in a bouncy with a Baby Einstein DVD, but usually he is sleeping. I shower, put on sweats, make the bottles and get everything ready for daycare, then wake up DS #1 at 7, get him dressed, brush his hair and teeth, and give him a small breakfast in with his brother while I finish things up. DH and I get to play with them a bit (like 10 min, unless there is a poopy or other emergancy which throws off the whole schedule) and then I change DS #2, and put the boys in the car with my DH. He leaves at 7:35 and then I have until 7:45 - 7:50 to get dressed, do my hair and finish anything else I need to do, like make lunch. IT"S CRAZY! I have to be at work at 8 and live about 10 min from there.
I only wash my hair every other day as it just takes too much time.

Re: working moms..if you shower in the AM
When I was working, I would be showered and dressed (and often out of the house ) before he even woke up! DH would be home though and waited for the nanny. Once I stopped working, it was still easier to shower and get myself ready for the day before he woke up!

Re: working moms..if you shower in the AM
I am a SAHM right now, but I have to shower int he morning because I take my DS to preschool. My DH get up first and showers. My DC are usually up by the time my DH goes in the shower. They just play in their cribs as I make their breakfast. After my DH is finished getting ready he changes DC's diapers and then feed them breakfast. During this time I shower and get ready for the day. I usually take about 45 minutes. Then my DH leaves and I get t My DC dressed and then we leave for school.

Re: working moms..if you shower in the AM
DH takes his shower at night- so he takes care of DS while I take my shower in the morning.

Re: working moms..if you shower in the AM
I feed DS at 6:30, wash him up and dress him, then he falls back asleep and I shower/get dressed/makeup. I have to be out the door by 8:15 to get to work on time

Re: working moms..if you shower in the AM
When I had Alex, DH was usually gone by the time I was getting ready in the morning - most days I'd put her in her rocker in front of some baby einstein, which would buy me a good 20 minutes to get ready, otherwise, I would get up before her to shower and get ready.
With Yael, I just bring her into the bathroom with me - she hangs out in her bouncy while I get ready.

Re: working moms..if you shower in the AM
I try to shower at night or while she is still sleeping, but that doesnt always work. when i have to watch her and shower, i bring her in the bathroom with me, close the door, set her up w some toys, and watch her while i shower. our bathroom is really well baby proofed except for the toilet paper and garbage. i pick those up and put them out of her reach or out of the room. she usually plays w her toys and then stands next to the shower and watches me shower. lol

Re: working moms..if you shower in the AM
I usually get up at around 630 and take my shower before DS gets up. However, when he is teething (like this morning) I put him in the highchair and rolled him near the bathroom. DH was sleeping (thanks a lot for that one ) and I was left to my devices. So, the highchair worked out great.

Re: working moms..if you shower in the AM
as an infant I would shower while DH gave him his morning bottle. I can count on one hand the amount of times that I showered without DH being home and most of those times were while I was on maternity leave.
Most times now (2 yo) he is still sleeping when I shower. Otherwise he is with DH, watching tv in his room or roaming around the upstairs (everything is gated off).

Re: working moms..if you shower in the AM
DH and I get up before DS to shower. I go first while DH makes the bed and shaves (and sleeps a few extra minutes) then while I am out getting dressed he is in showering.
He get's half dressed and then wakes DS to dress him ( he leaves the house after us) and I finish up, dry my hair and pack the bags. Then DS and I head off to daycare and DH finishes up and heads out to work.
