How contagious are you when sick??

I cannot believe I'm getting sick and as a hormonal New mom, I'm terrified it's the flu...I felt like a head cold w/ runny nose yesterday and today am getting a sore throat, slight burning in my chest, earaches, tired and head congestion.

I'm sooo scared of getting the babies sick.

I have been washing my hands a lot...should I wear a mask too?

I'm worried cause their preemies and still so tiny.

Tell me stories of people sick and their newborns didnt get it please Chat Icon

Re: How contagious are you when sick??

I had a terrible cold and sore throat when DD was around 3 months. She never got it, knock on wood. I have been sick on and off for the past 3 weeks (ugh!) and DH just got sick too. DD did have a runny nose yesterday, but she seemed better today. I am always so worried and anxious about it, but washing your hands should help a lot. I washed our linens a lot too.

When my DD was born last fall I was recovering form a horrible c-section and then I became sick. I was terrified that I was going to get her sick. I just took a lot of precaution and my DD did not get sick. I constantly washed my hands, sneezed into tissues, and sanitized everything. Also make sure you are taking care of yourself so you recover faster.

I hope you feel better soon it is not easy getting sick with a newborn and recovering from a c-section at the same time. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
