color inspirations - where do you look?

Jenn - you usually have great suggestions. thinking about my bedroom specifically. i have done beige, and pumpkin so far... what others are "good" sleeping colors?

don't they say Purple is romantic? but, i don't think i could live with purple for long.

suggestions anyone? pics are awesome too...

They say Blue and Green (light ones) are good calming colors for the bedroom. A nice Slate Blue or a light sage green, but than there is always that blue/green color. Love that. Very calming. I have blue/green in my Family Room. It's by Valspar and is called "Beach House". I love it. Pics in my album.

my son's room is navy...with white molding...black furniture. i love it.

We new that we wanted a sage green in our bedroom (i've heard that green is very calming, and so far, it truly is our oasis in the house), it was just a question of picking the right green (we went with BM nantucket grey, and LOVE it). Honestly found our other colors (the specific ones, since we already had an idea of what we wanted in each of our rooms) on the web and looking at room scapes in catalogs.

In the house we used:

BM Carlisle Cream in our living and dining room (they're connected)-- a nice beige
BM Harp Strings in our small bedroom--golden yellow but not mustardy
BM Van Cortland Blue in our guest bedroom-- rich dark slate blue
BM Nantucket Grey in our master bedroom

Haven't painted the kitchen or bathrooms yet and since we're likely to gut them all, not sure we'll paint until we do the renovation.
