I was wondering if anyone bought any furniture from Bob's, I saw a set there I like for my DD.
TIA

Re: Bob's Furniture

We have our bedroom set and our living room end tables from there. I love our bedroom set but, I find our living room stuff scratches easily.

Re: Bob's Furniture

Our bedroom and dining room set is from there. I had a guy here to repair a few knicks & scratches a few months after we bought the furniture and was complaining to him about the wear and tear of the furniture and he said something to the effect of "well it is bob's DISCOUNT furniture for a reason"...and I would have to agree about my purchases. But I have a feeling since I went with darker wood pieces I tend to notice every single knick and scratch that I may not otherwise have noticed if everything was lighter wood.

Re: Bob's Furniture

I agree with Beth that there stuff looks way more expensive than it is.

I just bought my couch and loveseat from Bob's. The quality isnt the best, but it's okay and looks good. It's in our formal living room so we hardly use it.

We bought dark cherry from Bedroom set from Thomasville, very expensive, and it has a couple of dings in it from placing things on top of the night tables, so i think you notice everything on the darker woods.

Re: Bob's Furniture

i just spent an entire day furniture shopping. i went to bobs in the morning - the one in carle place and then went to all the other places arouund there and went back to bobs around 6 to purchase my couch and dining room set.
my sales woman was awesome! her name is offie - very quirky and made the experience so much nicer than i ever thought furniture shopping could be. she knows her stuff. she worked for fortunoff's for 20yrs. she admitted bobs isnt the best quality but he isnt pretending it is either. any piece of furniture is going to chip , get a ding or scratch. couches are goin to get pulls and tears or frays whether u spend a lot of money or a fair amount of money.
my girlfriend has a bedroom set and couches from bobs for a year now and has no complaints.
i would recommend bobs especially if you dont want to spend a gazillion bucks and especially if u dont want to feel like haggling over price.

Re: Bob's Furniture

We bought our entire den set from Bobs - tables, sectional, recliner, fireplace.

Bobs furniture is brand name furniture. The reason why it is so cheap is because they contract to buy tens of thousands of pieces at once so the manu give them incredible prices, pay cash for it and have very little profit margin.

I bought a Lane reclining sectional (Bobs calls it 'magnifico', Lane calls it 'stallion') at bobs for half the price that Lane sells it for (the colors are different but you can see it's the same sectional)
Bobs
Lane

I also bought a power recliners, they are Catnappers.

When you look at furniture there, ask the sales people who makes it, lift up the cushions to find a tag. Then go do your research. Can you get cheaply made furniture? Sure, but you also can at Macy's, JCPenneys, R&F as well.

Re: Bob's Furniture

our master bedroom set and kitchen table are from BOB'S and we love our pieces.

the only gripe that I have is after sale service. Our bedroom set was delivered missing 4 drawer pulls and we were told we would have to wait 4 weeks for them to come in from the manufacturer. Ok, not a huge problem. Well, 4 weeks turned into 6 months. I nearly went to the showroom to take the floor model pulls home with me Chat Icon I was so mad at the time that I swore I would never buy from them again, however, time has passed and I think I would Chat Icon
