if you have a sliding glass door...
do you have curtains or blinds on them? I feel like we have no privacy, but I really don't want to get the long blinds (can't remember the name of them)

LOL, do you mean vertical blinds?
We have a screen blind. It's almost like an accordian......it opens from right to left. I pull it all the way across when I want it closed and I pull it all the way to the left when I want the sliding doors to be exposed.

i think they are called venetian blinds. those are the ones we just got rid of. 
i like ones like this, my ILs just got them - they are called Panel Track Blinds:

We have curtains that I close at night. I feel like when it's dark out and we have our living room light on, you could see right in, so thats when they get closed.
They are also insulated, so it helps keep heat in, in the winter. I got them at BBB.

We have bamboo roman shades with drapes that go to the floor on either side. I can pull the drapes across if I want to.

On our double doors downstairs, we have this..sheers with thicker curtains over them..upstairs, we have the accordian type and through the florida room, just curtains we had left over from the apt...we got rid of verticals..blech...

My house backs to a sump so no one can see in I think after we paint the kitchen I may put up a curtain. I hate Venetian Blinds and I know my kids would destroy them, especially since it is the only way out to our backyard.
