Scary-I think night terror related

Thsi has happened to me twice

I hear Ronan crying but its a weird cry like huh huh huh not consistent. I go pick him up and he has his eyes closed and is basically limp(not his head or neck but his legs and torso) He seems like he is still sleeping and doesn't "come to" for a few minutes. THis time I got scared and took him out to the LR where we have our changing table and laid him down. My DH wanted me to take him temp(even tho he didn't feel hot) it was 98.1. After about 2 minutes, he stopped crying and became more alert and with it. I gave him a bottle whihc he sucked down and then he went back to sleep.

Since my other son as food allergies and they both had RSV I am familiar with the signs of impaired breathing-he was fine in that regard. he just seemed scared and like he was "sleepwalking" If he could walk, that is. Anyone experience this?

If he was in pain I think he would have been more alert you know? I do think it was a night terror...is he young though? Almost 11 months

Re: Scary-I think night terror related

i have night terrors - but not often enough to require meds - as per my doctor.

what i have been told - both from my ex and dave...

i will sit STRAIGHT up in bed (almost rigid) and scream bloody murder - like i am being stabbed or killed in some horrible way. It can last anywhere from 30 seconds to 5 minutes - no matter how hard dave tries to calm me or talk to me...it doesn't help.

i don't know if it's different with children...
