Re: Trick-or-treating

I think it depends on where you live, in my last place, we got 5-7 kids a night. In my new neighborhood, there are 14 kids just on our street!!!!! So I have no idea how much to get, but I am sure it will be A LOT!

Re: Trick-or-treating

I'm buying more this year than last, because this year Halloween is on a Saturday. That means younger kids earlier in the day and older kids later in the day. Chat Icon We had a lot of kids last year, but it really depends on your block. You could buy a little more and if you have to bring it into work if you are aloud to....that is what I do. Chat Icon

DW usually gets the large plain Hershey bars. Most kids love chocolate, there's no nut allergy issues, and the leftover candy can be used in recipes, since it's just pure chocolate... We usually get a case of them from BJs.

Re: Trick-or-treating

in our old neighborhood, we always had leftovers from 2-3 bags of candy.
in our new neighborhood, there are tons of kids and i teach most of them, so we're expecting to have lots of kids this year so we bought 4 bags of candy.

ITA.

It also depends on how "welcoming" your house is. The first year, we were told we'd have a lot but, we only had about 5 - we hadn't replaced the front door and teh front lights yet. The second year, we hung two pumpkins and put a big dent in our candy supply.

Unfortunately, I bought a bunch on sale last week and I've dug into it already so I'm going to have to buy more Chat Icon

I bought a big of Snickers; a bag of Baby Ruths and a Bag of Laffy Taffy/Assorted chewy candies...we had about 1/2 of all 3 bags left (i was skimping on the kids treats to keep more for myself LOL). BUT we both work late and probably missed the majority of after school/early evening trick or treaters. Being that Halloween is on a Sat this year; i'll probably get 4 bags just so i have enough left over for me Chat Icon

We just bought 4 bags at BJs bc there are a TON of kids on my street alone. Now lets see if 4 bags actually make it another 3 weeks Chat Icon

Re: Trick-or-treating

I had the same problem when I bought candy! I picked one up that has 100 pieces in it...I think that should cover it

Re: Trick-or-treating

Last time it was on a Saturday, we had about 150 kids. I think people drive to my neighborhood just to trick or treat. But we always buy what we like so it won't go to waste if we have too much.

Re: Trick-or-treating

ZERO!

Our house is on the side of the street that there is no sidewalk, and all the houses are up REALLY high on a hill.

In the 4 years we've lived here, we've never had any trick or treaters.
