Aqua customers who want their voice heard on the possible rate hike
The deadline for public comment is this Friday. I just got this email from Fuschillo that details how to comment to the Public Service Commission if you haven't done so already.
Dear Friend:
If you are an Aqua-New York Water customer, please remember that this Friday, October 9th, is the deadline to make public comments to the Public Service Commission (PSC) on Aqua's rate increase proposal.
As you are aware from my previous emails, Aqua is seeking PSC approval to increase its rates, which would raise the average monthly residential bill by 12%. I, along with over 1,000 other Aqua customers, have already called on the PSC to reject Aqua's rate increase plans. Hundreds also turned out to voice their concerns at two local PSC public hearings which I requested. According to the PSC's administrative law judge, the PSC is expected to render a decision on Aqua's proposal by the end of January.
Aqua-New York Water customers who have not already shared their concerns about the proposed rate increase with the PSC can do so by:
* Emailing the PSC at [email protected]
* Leaving a message on the PSC's toll free opinion line at 1-800-335-2120
*Writing to: Jaclyn Brilling, Secretary, New York State Public Service Commission, Three Empire State Plaza, 19th Floor, Albany, New York 12223
Be sure to reference the case number when contacting the PSC (case #09-W-0237).
If you don't want higher Aqua water bills, don't miss the chance to make your voice heard.
Sincerely,
SENATOR CHARLES J. FUSCHILLO, JR.
