Where to put the office set up??
Does anyone have their office set up in their bedroom? I hate to make my new MBR include an office, but here is our situation: - currently the office has been set up in the upstairs alcove (large hallway) - we will lose this when the new bedroom is added - downstairs we have a tiny den (it's really a bedroom we use for TV and playroom) - once the house is done, I plan to move toys out of the den and go back to using my formal dining room as a playroom for a few years (the den we use now will be too tight once you add an exersaucer for #2 and a few toys for Ryan)
So, my options are: - squeeze desk/computer/fax in small den (very little space and that's where our TV is so if we have company to watch a game, we have like 4 seats for guests) - set something up in our MBR which should have ample space - set something up in the nursery - combine kids in one room (if baby is a ) and use smaller bedroom as an office (but then we're going through this dormer to still have our kids share a room!)
I do need some kind of office set up for the occasional times I work from home.

Re: Where to put the office set up??
My MBR has two double closets and we are currently converting our office into DS big boy room and keeping the nursery as is for baby #2 (whenever that is). We think we may empty out one of the closests and make it a work station and desk. It HAS to go in the MBR somewhere and the thought of having to look at it in my BR gives me ageda, so that may work.
Probably doesnt help you, but same problem here. Could you do that if you only have one closet and get a wardrobe from Ikea in leiu of it?

I like the closet idea the above poster posted. It depends how often you use it and if it needs to be in a quiet space for work or is it just fun? I'd try to put it in the den or the dining room/play room first. if the new room is bigger, i think its fine for kids to share rooms. and keep the other as an office.
good luck!

My hope was to set it up in the closet in that den - but DH says you can't have an outlet/wires in a closet

Re: Where to put the office set up??
I have one in my MBR-But I only have a laptop on a desk no other equipment. I think you could make a nice one if you have ample room and hang a curtain or put up a screen to separate the space
