very bad infection/mastitis...103 fever- help!
So its mastitis :( I've never been so sick! What happens now? Dr prescribed cepro- that ok? Can I still nurse? When will I feel better

not 100%, but Im thinking you can't BF with that antibiotic. But not 100%. Feel better.

dr said it was safe; pharm. Was no help and saif if ob prescribed it, then its safe. Grrrrrrr how do I find out?

So my fever is up 10 103... and keeps on rising..
I took tylenol and the DR is prescribing different meds (im allergic to everything)
Please...what can I do to get more comfortable!

Seems like it is ok? It looks like you have to tell your doctor you are BFing (which obviously you did...) but it doesn't say NOT to take it.

when i had mastitis i lived with cold compresses on my boobies... which greatly helps....

When I had it really bad, I had to go into the hospital to get IV antibiotics . My infection was spreading by the minute and I had a wicked high fever too. I had a mass under my arm about the size of a plum within 30 minutes of starting to feel crappy. I was totally fine in a few hours. I had to pump and dump for 24 hours.

Do I have to dump? Ob said no- but my fever was up to 104- its finally going down though.

I don't know anything about it...but I think if you want more info about the Rx, I think I would call another pharm and tell them the pharmacist you received the meds from wasn't helpful and see if they would be able to help you

kellymom.com is a great resource for mastitis and safe meds as well. I hope you feel better soon, when I had it I felt better fairly quickly after starting antibiotics.
