We like it, just keep an eye on your bill...we haven't gotten a correct once since we installed, but they've been very accommodating monthly about it regardless...

I like it - it took me a while to find all my favorite channels again but I love the multi-room DVR feature and their on demand selection is terrific!

Thanks :) I feel better now about my choice. Was afraid in the beginning I was making the wrong choice of changing but it WILL save us $50/month.

Re: Verizon-Fios
I just did a poll a few weeks ago...some swear by cable and hate Fios, mostly for the customer service, but anyone I know with Fios loves it.
We are also getting it installed on the 28th so I figure if I hate it, I'll switch in a year. In the meantime, i know my cousin has Cable and has issues with it all the time.

LOVE Fios... the only thing i do not like is that they do not have MSG in HD (DH and I are BIG Rangers Fans and have season tickets, so we have to watch or away games in regular, which STINKS!)

We just installed today...The tech was beyond nice and accommodating! I just set a few channels as favs so I dont have to go searching, but I am sure that will be the hardest thing to get used to!
My theory is I wasnt IN LOVE with cable and after all its JUST CABLE, not like I was signing up for a life altering thing so if we dont like it we suck it up for 1 year and then switch, no harm done!
After a few hours, I like the DVR 1000x better than cables. With cable DH and I never cancelled our TIVO because it was so much more user friendly and had more stuff. Fios is not AS user friendly as TIVO but has alot of the same functionality so thats a good thing.
ETA: Someone told me that they had an issue with FIOS, the DVR was not compatible with their Samsung Flat Panel TV, dont have all the specifics but just an FYI!

Re: Verizon-Fios
We have Fios and love it, except on cable at my parents we had multiple tvs that didn't have to have boxes, and although at this point they only get about 25 stations worth watching, you can still watch in any room without a box. I don't think you can with Fios, but my husband is looking into it.

I keep hearing good things about FIOS but the bad things I hear is about the 8+ hour installations. I dont want my walls ruined in the process of saving $50 a month

Re: Verizon-Fios
FOIS would be nice, but I'll never consider it due to the lack of MSG in HD.

Re: Verizon-Fios
LOVE my FIOS, that was a factor on where we bought a house. I don't think I could go back to Cablevision. I do some work from home and the TV is always on (I am a HUGE TV person).

There was no damage to my walls, and my install was about 5 hours. Basically they tie into the pole, run the cable to your home, disconnect the cablevision wire and boom...they then use the same cable wires which is in your house.
In my basement just below my fuse box, they installed a battery back up which is plugged into an outlet down there. That they did drill into the wall, but my basement is unfinished. Outside there is a box attached to my house near the electric meter but its nearly hidden.
The big reason my install took so long was because the pole they need to tie into was 4 houses donw and in running the 300+ feet of wire they had to go through my neighbors backyards some of which have steep inclines and are heavily wooded.
I was terrified of the install but it was much less intrusive than I expected.

Re: Verizon-Fios
Lately my internet connection is horrible. I lose connection often! I jsut typed up a whle response for an online course and the connection got lost when I went to submit it!
I don't order on demand anymore. I ordered two movies that I never got to watch and was reimbursed both times.
I live in an apartment and they said they knew the installation rules befor einstallation. They drilled holes in the ceiling and burrowed cables under the carpet and there are parts of the carpet that came right up.

We love FIOS and will never go back to anything else! The free on demand selection is great too. DH jokes that if we ever move to another house, it's a requirement that they have FIOS available.
