I love my denim skirt.
I have short distressed one that I wore in the summer with tank tops or fun fitted t-shirts.

depends.
i have a short light denim one and a white one that i only wear with tank to the beach.
i also have a dark denim pencil skirt from club monaco...
most jean skirts i'm not a fan of though

I have one that I got at Anthropologie in January (needed a skirt for my HM). I wore it a lot this summer too, as a jeans alternative. It was cute (a bit above knee-length) but I just generally wore it for errands, to the beach with a tank top, etc.
