I guess it really depends on the overall look you're going for, what type of cabinets you have, hardwear, countertops etc..

i love mosaic, but depending on the look you're going for, what cabinets and countertop you're getting, either can work. i was set on getting glass mosaic, but instead we're getting regular subway tiles that will look much better than any mosaic we found. and it's saving us a lot of $$.

I love both, but things to consider... Mosaic can be seen as very trendy. While they may go over great for your style, consider if you are going to sell in the next few years because it might not go over well with buyers.
You could do it in such a way that its not to trendy like the white example shown above.
If your not planning on selling for a long time, I would go with the mosaic then!! so fun!! Just try to keep it somewhat neutral so it doesn't go out of style to quickly

I LOVE mosaic glass tiles... we got regular porcelain b/c of price.
You could do regular tile with some glass tile accents. That looks pretty, too.
