Arbors Hauppague or Somerset Gardens assisted living
DH and I have spent the last 2 weekends touring assislted living facilities for my grandmother. We've narrowed it down to The Arbors at Hauppauge and Somerset Gardens in Plainview. We also went to Sunrise in Dix Hills, which was gorgeous and perfect, but too pricey.
Does anyone have any experience with these places? They seem to be desperate for new business, b/c they have a lot of rooms available. I'm planning on negotiating a bit. But I'm open to advice, suggestions, recommendations, etc.
Thanks!!

Re: Arbors Hauppague or Somerset Gardens assisted living
I hope your grandparents are happy there. We were there on Saturday and its prices are actually pretty good, believe it or not. Most are within the same range. We really liked the vibe of the Arbors. The residents seemed really happy and the place was immaculate. The staff was super-friendly, too. I just didn't like the lack of food choices and they don't have a medication management program run the same way as the other places. We'll visit each again and hopefully find more people who have experience with both.
