Barney Related and sorta mean
OMG I bought my kids this Barney songs DVD. I have a couple of thoughts
1st why do they have such old kids on there. They look like idiots sitting in these small chairs all.....big
2nd their faces kill me with the over expressiveness.
Aren't these shows for toddlers ? So why wouldn't they have toddlers as teh children?

OMG. We've avoided Barney for almost 2.5 years, I didn't know they still made stuff!!
Do Jack's Big Music Show!! It is the BEST and they have a DVD.

OMG I made the mistake of flipping to it the other day and DD really likes it...and the kids on there are beyond over expressive, it's really mind numbing and I avoid it now like the plauge!

I'm glad it is back on...our On Demand (I know you are OOS) has them too...but only 4.
DS STILL loves it and he has been watching it for 2+ years!

UGH i know!!!! Jacen LOVES Barney. We didn't used to let him watch it (because we can't stand it), but my in laws put it on at their house for him.
So we've actually dvr'd a few episodes.  
I think more than anything, he likes all the singing and dancing.

I LOATHE Barney, but DS likes it and I don't really see anything wrong with the show, nothing I wouldn't want him to see or hear, so he sees it now and then. But I always want to punch him, especially when he starts in with his duffy laugh--and I am not a violent person!
I have thought the same about the big kids before. My guess is that they used older kids because they were on a budget, and it's probably easier to get the older kids to do and say what they want.
To give Barney credit though, not long ago there was an episode where they talked about how good it is to nap. Very important for DS to hear this--he even pulled out his little sofa and lay down on it which is a rarity. So the show has its moments.

I don't care for Barney myself, but Thomas does seem to like him.
Wiggles too. Can't stand them, but Thomas LOVES them!!!!

I deplore Barney. My little cousin (now 18 years old) use to be OBSESSED, and I do mean obsessed, with Barney. Morning, noon, and night and NOTHING else. Needless to say I hated it then, got my fill, and won't even expose my DD to Barney and his evils.

I've always hated Barney - and in particular Baby Bop who doesn't speak proper English.
Definitely over expressive but they definitely capture their interest at 2 yo like no other show I've seen.
