jhs... problem

Ok.. i 've been doing the JHS for 10 + years now... my hair has never even looked dry from it. I do it about once a year since my hair is pretty straight naturally.. the JHS just gives it smooth shiny look..
anyway, went to Kim at New mode this time.. Had a great experience.. in fact probably the best experience! My hair looks great .. she didn't even fry the very ends like usual. and the best is that somehow she was able to leave some body in my hair which i LOVE..
the problem is .. my hair is falling out excessively!! i even have areas where it's noticeably thinning at my scalp... I have a ton of hair and luckily right now you can 't tell unless i pull my hair back but i'm afraid if this continues i might lose ALOT more! My hair sheds all day, my hair is EVERYWHERE!!

ok it doesn't help that i had a baby 4 months ago.. but my hair was not shedding like THIS before the straightening.
I've read of people going bald.. please tell me this s not going to happen to me :(
has this happened to anyone else? when did it stop???

it's not the JHS, it's because you just had a baby. lots of women get this - my hair was coming out so much i really thought i was going to lose it all! but eventuall (maybe 9 months post partum) it slowed down and while it hasn't stopped it's a lot better. and i didn't go bald Chat Icon

i know it's freaking you out but it's totally normal. Chat Icon

I agree...I think its the post baby thing...where you loose hair and lots of it.

Oh gosh,..I can so remember that too!
I thought I was going to go bald from the amt of hair I lost.

Its not JHS! You are ok! Chat Icon

Re: jhs... problem

I don't know much about JHS (I love my curls) but I do know that hair falls out usually a few months after some sort of trauma/illness/event (obviously a baby would be one of these events). I was really sick once in college and it was about 2-3 months later that my hair started to shed way more than usual -- it lasted for about a month and then went back to normal.

My hair fell out in clumps after DD, literally I thought I was going to be bald and I have a lot of hair!!! Right now at 8 mos pp its growing back and I look like an idiot..it was at its worst at 4-5 mos pp...I've also had JHS done and I honestly think its the baby and not the JHS

I did the JHS about 2 months after my DD's birth and by the 4th month my hair was falling out like crazy! It's definitely related to the baby and being postpartum. Hopefully it will subside within a few months. I know with both my DC, my hair loss subsided by the 8-9th month. Chat Icon

Re: jhs... problem

The first time I did JHS my hair fell out a lot. And I was not PP, my youngest was born over a year before. I didn't go bald though, not even close, just a lot of shedding. I think yours might be a combo - I think JHS does make you shed hair or at least that was my experience bc I had it done a second time and I lose more hair that I did without as well (but not as much as the first time) So if that much is coming out, I'd say it's the timing of both. That PP hair loss is a shocker, even after I had 3 kids, the hair loss with the 3rd child shocked me as much as the hair loss the first time around. I was convinced I'd go bald each time. Chat Icon

Re: jhs... problem

its definitely from having the baby. I am shedding like crazy and my DS is 4 1/2 months. I also had my hair JHS a month after having the baby and it has been falling out since around 2 1/2 monts post pardum. I wouldnt worry about it.
