Getting So Anxious About Our Addition

So we've decided to go through with it a few weeks ago and knew that the upfront stuff is going to take some time. And I'm already growing impatient.

We're still at the financing point right now. Basically I just went through the task of getting approved and application in. Now there is a 1 week waiting period (mandatory) for me to pay them to get the bank to do the appraisal (if my current home doesn't appraise for a certain amount we're back to square 1 and I wasted $700 for the double appraisal of current home and future home). That process alone can take a few weeks I hear.

Then once all is squared away there we apply for permits. I already know we need a variance. So we have to wait for permits to get denied. We'll have to go through the hearings for variances which will take a long time and fingers crossed it gets approved.

This process has already consumed so much of my time and stress....I can't imagine another few months like this if not more.

OK, needed to get that out. Pheww

I know the end product will be worth it but wish everyone can revolve their world around me so that we get this done quicker

Well i don't know if this will make you feel better or worse, but we re-fi'd the first week in March, started the addition in the second/third week (we dug a foundation for it first) and it's 99% done now It was a mess and I was ready to scream during many parts of it, but it did go fast and it came out awesome- it was worth the frustration!! I know your pain,,, We are doing construction as well, Still in the early stages, Just going over the plans today with architech.. I cant wait to hear a hammer , a nail, LOL I know , im going to regret saying that.. But i cant wait ,, ,
