Next question about listing-neatness

If gave real estate a key and they came whenever they wanted, what about messes that often get left behind when we are running to get to work, etc.?

Part of my reason for wanting to be home and have everything scheduled is that we sometimes (okay, often) have stuff laying around and I feel like it would make me crazy if every day I needed to make sure my house was pristine before leaving. If every room in the house has to be perfect, I think I would never sleep.

Oh yeah, I work part time, so I would be home a lot to begin with.

your home should be clean and cutter-free prior to listing (for agent viewing) as well as while it is listed. although it may be a hassle but it is very important that you do so. buyers are very particular and are easily turned off by an unkept and messy home.

wishing you a quick sale!

Honestly, whether you give them a key or not, sometimes you only get an hour or two notice before a showing, so you pretty much have to keep your home clutter-free and tidy at all times.

Do you have someplace you can store things that you absolutely don't need? The more you can get out of the house, the better.

You could say you need 24 hour notice before all showings. That would alleviate the problem of people just popping by with little notice.
