wrestling matches while changing diaper

When does this end?

Lately changing Jacen's diaper is a wrestling match. Most of the time i try to distract him by having him hold something, but lately that doesn't even work. So now i walk around the house trying to find something 'new' for him to hold.

If he wants to get up and move and we're in the middle of changing his diaper, he starts crying hysterically.

When will this lovely phase end?

My DS started this last month...the best is when he poops himself and then he starts wrestling... fun times

17 months and I still have these matches - it's awesome when he isn't in the mood for a change in the morning, you know when I'm still fighting morning sickness at 29 wks pregnant and trying to get him out the door for daycare

I have found that if I bring a sippy of juice in in the morning, he'll be still long enough for me to get most of it done - at least the diaper and then I can do the dressing part on the run.

I've just learned to be a better wrestler!!

Basically I sit on the floor facing him, my legs in a "V", hold his legs up with one hand, pin his arms down with each my legs, and wipe with the other.

I can draw a picture if you need a visual image!

20 months and 95% of my diaper changes are STILL wrestling matches! DS is so strong that I have to use alot of strength to hold him down!!!

I have found that a diaper change in front of the TV is generally free of any need for wrestling moves!

22 months and while the # of wrestling matches has decreased (to say 25-50%), he's gotten so much stronger that it can get pretty ugly

I still deal with this at 19 months.

I have two toys that he loves to play with ready at the diaper "station" aka the floor. It helps to distract him.

I've learned to change DD's diaper while she is standing up! (Not poopy diapers)

I have been dealing with the same for the past 5 months I try to give him something fun to play with but that doesn't work very often.
