Just for fun....

I asked DH this today, who wants to play?

If you were given a million dollars to purchase a house anywhere on Long Island, where would it be???

The catch is, that you have to spend the entire million on the house, but you have to be able to pay your own taxes.

Would you buy a $500,000 house and make $500,00 worth of improvements- what would they be???

Would you pick a 2 bedroom beach house that costs a million but is shabby chic???

Would you prefer a middle of the road house but with a media room, pool with a grotto, maybe a horse stable???

Just for fun, where would it be and what would you have???

Re: Just for fun....

my DH and i play this game too, but we use five million for each of us after taxes (we pretend we won the lottery)...

for one million, i think i would be in wantagh woods area... the largest plot i could find and do some reno work to make it my own... i would have all the "little" things... whatever it takes to make a great party place.

i am such a simple person, i don't "need" much...

Massapequa Park - south of Merrick Road - Harbor Green. I'd make a simple (medium sized) house amazing!

Hard Question Chat Icon Probably buy an old Victorian in Lynbrook for about $750k and use the rest to restore it to it's fullest potential.

Re: Just for fun....

I would buy in Smithtown or St. James. I grew up there and would do anything to live there again. I feel very safe and comfortable there. I wouldn't even spend the full $1M, but it's the peace of mind that counts Chat Icon
