if you're looking to get more protein in her diet (not just add new foods) you can also try pureeing some silken tofu in with her fruits, veggies, etc. it won't change the taste or texture, but you'll get that extra protein boost.

About 14-15 months, but that si b/c I didn't think to give them b/c I hate fish. He likes them with a little ketchup on the side...
Abby will be a year this month, right? You could try a little peanut butter on bread or something, unless you have peanut allergies, the AAP changed that recco recently...

Thanks but we are looking to slowly work her to textures that are NOT pureed. She does get protein in yogurt and Stage 2 foods. I won't give her stage 3 foods and chicken nuggets, meatballs etc are too hard for her to break down. Flaky fish may be a good place to start but I wanted to make sure it was ok first.

Its amazing how so many other cultures wouldn't even think twice about it. Scandanavian and Asian cultures feed their kids fish almost from the womb.
This is true...I know a 2 yr old that eats sushi...real, raw fish sushi!

Re: BTDT Moms - When did you start feeding your DC fish/fish sticks?
10 months I think - he loved them
For protein, here are some of Nick's faves:
Lentils boiled in chicken broth (sprinkle a little romano cheese on these - YUM)
Ground Turkey/Chicken Breast - sauted w/ a little EVOO S&P, and then I mix brown rice in and some chopped tomatoes. Let it stew for a bit (until the tomatoes are broken down). I also sprinkle grated cheese on this.
Saute Zuchinni or Spinach w/ a little garlic, EVOO S&P, toss some cannellini beans in there and toss w/ pasta or pastina (since she's having texture issues). The cannellini's are nice and soft -so you can mush them to make them creamy for her.
I'll keep sending you as I think of them.
