How do you clean your hardwood floors?
Im in hardwood floor hell!
No matter what I do, I end up with a thick film after washing them.
help!

The shark steam mop- they are absolutely immaculate- it takes a little effort but so worth it

I just had my wood floors refinished and the guy told me NOT to use a steam mop even though some people do. I specifically asked about the steam mop.
He told me to use a wood floor cleaner that Pledge makes ro to use MinWax.

I recently bought that Bona wood floor cleaning spray from BB&B and it actually works pretty well.
I didn't notice any film afterwards.

i do not like using any of those mr clean liquid type cleaners. it leaves spots.
I first sweep or use a swifter the dust mop one to get all the dirt.
then i use orange Glo . i get itat CVS havent really seen it many other places. there is an ornage glo system that comes with a swifter tpye mop. http://www.woodfloorcare.com/864011A01.asp (just make sure to clean the pad because otherwise it gets hard as a rock and you cant use it again) i ruined mine like that i cant remember where i found it but i have to get another one. i think it mayhave been pathmark or something.
just spray (no diluting) the liquid right onto the HW floors and then spread with the mop. the floors come out so clean and they shine!!!!
it drys pretty quickly too. i have a cat. i put the cat in the bedroom and let him out about 15 min or so later.
WILL NOT LEAVE STREAKS!!
if you cant find the system but get the cleaner get it and jsut use a swifter dust sheet on the swifter for now. it works fine, just may leave some fibers but nothing too noticable. i do it all the time since i need to get a new pad since i ruined the old one
i do my HW floors with the orange glo 1 time a week, unless i have major traffic and it needs it more than that. just swifter with the dust sheets in between

This is what i use. I was directed to use this by our builder so we have been using it for 3 years. It works great!

I vaccume then use an omop for wood floors.
After a 1st attempt that was a waste, I am so hesitant to try another steam mop.

I vacuum then clean them with a damp mop (orange glo) and Method Wood for Good floor cleaner. I use it on both the hardwood and laminate flooring. No streaks and it gets nice and clean!

I use this too. My floors come out so shiny.........we slip and fall all over the place......... But I still love the way it cleans.
I will add that every once in a while I will use a mixture of vinegar and warm water with a few sprays of Glass Cleaner in the bucket. This cleans them very good with no film and gives it a shine as well when they dry. I know some people are against it.....but I know many people who do it and their floors are fine.

I vacuum first then spray bruce hardwood floor cleaner(from home depot) and wipe with a dry swiffer...comes out so shiny.
