Need help with lighting, any ideas?
Hi,
I currently have a small room in my house that has a ceiling light fixture that you turn on by pulling a string. (I think it's like a lightbulb with a really hideous shade over it, need to look.) There is no switch there to turn the light on and off.
We'd rather not spend $300 to have an electrician add a switch (at least not now) and am wondering where do I find a ceiling light fixture that you pull a string to turn on?
And one that is not hideous
The room is actually attached to what is becoming the nursery and will be the baby's play space.
TIA!

agreed. Ceiling fan is the way to go. What is above the room now? would you be able to wire it yourselves?

Buy a ceiling fan with a remote. Lowe's & HD sell them. You can attach the remote to the light switch that you have in the room so it's easy to turn the light or fan on when you walk in the room. We did this because our light switches are hooked up to our overhead light either and we didn't want to spend the money right now. HTH!
