Wading River/Calverton/Baiting Hollow area. I grew up in WR, and I love the larger properties, the scenery, the "terrain" (as much as you can have on LI anyway....)

It is so funny what different towns people like. A town everyone is mentioning I lived in and couldn't wait to get out of. Chat Icon

I agree! It's really funny how different people get different things from different towns!

I remember living in East Islip and HATING it - but my girlfriend absolutely adores it and can't believe how bad my experience was compared to how good hers is!

I have another set up friends that crack me up... she grew up in Holbrook and HATED it. He grew up in Stony Brook and HATED it. When they bought a house - she wante Stony Brook and he wanted Holbrook! The best part? They compromised by taking both towns off the options and bought a house in Commack - right around the block from where her cousin SOLD a house because she hated the town!! Chat Icon Chat Icon

I guess the upshot is you have to drive around, ask around and really get to know the places on your own because it's different strokes for different folks!

Montauk if I didn't have to work.

Northport Village if I have to work.

I'm in Kings Park now though and very happy here. There was a time I never thought I'd be able to own a home here.

Northport (my hometown) or Sayville (where DH lived for many years) if commuting was not a huge issue for us. Theyre just too far from the city and thats where we both work.

We ended up in Floral Park and I like the small town feel to it. It reminds me of Northport or Sayville, without the water. In Nassau, I also liked

South Bellmore/ Merrick area. It feels apart from everything but is still so close.....I love knowing that the beach is just one exit away. There are so many great beautiful local parks. I also love Lindenhurst but this is too far from my work. If I stay on Long Island there is no other place I can see myself but in this areaa.

Oyster Bay Cove overlooking the water.

That would be my second choice. We both want something on the water. WE want to eventually use our boat instead of just look at it Chat Icon

It it wasn't on the water, Upper or Old Brookville.

We went to a party in Sands Point this weekend. It was beautiful, I loved the yards-you said price was not an issue right Chat Icon

I'd also love to live out east somewhere, I loved Montauk when we went there in June. I could totally be a recluse and live out there all year long. Summer people might drive me nuts though.

Yea your not going to believe it but honestly
1) Lindenhurst (it was my dream to live in my hometown)
r

You MUST know my DH. He has the same exact mentality! When I told him I wanted to move, he looked at me like I just said I killed the dog. LOL

If money was no option, I love Fort Salonga or Laurel Hollow. More realistically, I would love to live in Northport, Sayville or Babylon Village.

Re: If you could live in ANY LI town.....

I would stay in Levittown. I grew up here my whole life and love the little things about it. Close to all and great schools. I would also pick Massapequa because that was my second home with the grandparents and I just love being by the water all the time.
