Re: yay,

How did you do....spill the dirt please. I really need grass and we just can't get the grass to grow. I'm looking at a dirt backyard right now. Chat Icon

Re: yay,

we had top soil delivered, had a guy spread it out. then we got a spreader then we spreaded it out. then we took a rake and raked it through the soil. then we covered it with straw, not hay. then every night dh and I water it. the straw helps keep the moisture in, and helps to germinate it. we bought our seed from a landscaper, it is there own blend and has its own patent. good luck ! Re: yay,

Thanks, never thought of the straw. but I would need a lot of straw. Silly question, what do you do with the straw when the grass starts to grow enough? Take it off and get rid of it?

Re: yay,

Well our yard isn't as large as yours and we can't burn the straw, Chat Icon But maybe we could give it away to someone else that might want it.

Anyway, glad you are getting grass. We will try again. I'm not giving up. But we will have to get more top soil and than reseed. Hopefully in a couple of weeks we can do this. I would love to see grass soon. Chat Icon And we just don't want to spend the money on sod. Chat Icon Thanks for your info.Chat Icon
