Jen, Camacho, and others with lovely homes....
My bed is 84 1/2" wide.
Do you think if I get two prints that are about 28" square - it will be enough?
I figure if I space them 5" apart, it will take up (lengthwise) about 61"...
BUT since they're only 28" high - would they be lost on our wall (it's like 19 ft high)?
Here's a bad pic of our bed - I wish I had taken one full on.... There's a window on the other side. Similar to Jen's set up.
Here are the prints I want (I want to keep the bedroom tonal - so I have slate blue walls, royal blue on the bedding, we just got baby blue lamps, and I'm getting navy blue window treatments):
Orrrrrrrrrr - if you think it's not substantial enough, how about these puppies:
Sorry so long - thanks in advance!! Oh and I'm open to other suggestions, as long as it's in the blue family...

Re: Jen, Camacho, and others with lovely homes....
since you have a grouping on the side wall, i would opt for one large (landscape oreintation) piece. if you want a group, 3 rectangular prints would work best. i like the square but since your celings are so high, i really think you need rectangle art.
when grouping or stacking art the rule of thumb is that the distance btwn each peice should be equal or less than the total of the width of the frames. ie. frames are 2" wide, art should be hung no more than 4" apart.

Both are beautiful Jenn! But with a 19' wall I think I would go with your 2nd pic. I think you will need the height for that wall. Or maybe the art work that comes in 3 or 4 different piece, they are tall and it makes one picture. Let me find something.
Like this. They are about 40"Hx60"W
Check out the site I found them on. Lots of stuff to look at.
HTH!

Thanks guys - totally NOT what I wanted to hear but new it was coming...
Thanks Jen - I'm looking for something a little "softer".
What about this print - it's 48w x 36h? Do you think it will go?
eta: too green, right? Ugh!!
eta: Sorry Cpt! Didn't see your post! Thanks!!

If you wanted something blue like you said, as beautiful has this piece is, it has too much green in it. But beautiful just the same. But I think the size would be great. 36H is a good height, because you would be hanging it above the headboard, not right at the headboard, so 36H would probably work great.
You know what I do when I want to know if something will look good or not (beside my PowerPoint pics that I put together ), I use the blue painters tape. Make a box above your headboard where you think it would look good, measure out the 48x36 with the tape and leave it there for a couple of days and get the feel for it. And/or take a pic of it and post it. HTH! Can't wait to see what you pic out. I love the colors in your bedroom. What color is on the walls by the way? Love it!
ETA: from what I can see your headboard looks high up, so I'm thinking this sort of landscape 48x36 size might work really well on that wall. Maybe take a pic of the wall straight on with the height of the wall in the pic. I'm sure that is a great wall.

Re: Jen, Camacho, and others with lovely homes....
i agree that the colors in the peice you posted aren't a great match for your room. LOVE the idea of the canvas though. IMO a wood framed piece would look to heavy paired with the headboard. if you prefer a frame, a matte silver would work really well.
these are nice and blend well with your wall color but may not be the best match with your bedding. might be hard to find something that will blend well with both. do you have another set of bedding for fall/winter? Water Lilies - Claude Monet
The Seine River - Claude Monet
Flowers in June - Miquela Nicolau
Weeping Willow - Diane Romanello
Transition - Gregory Garrett
Wheat Field with a Lark - Vincent Van Gogh
