question on tipping

i just had my hair done by the owner of the salon. i love her and she always does a great job. the total came to 165 and i gave her 25 as a tip because i was kind of in a rush getting out of there and now i realize that wasnt enough. should i call? maybe stop by and give her more? i know it sounds silly..

I would just tip her the right amount next time you go.

thanks Chat Icon

actually overheard her and another worker talking about buying coffee from dunkin for the pot they make for clients..so i think im going to send her a small gift card to there and a note. it's a new place too, so i can say good luck and whatnot.

Honestly, I wouldn't worry about it. She owns the salon - generally the owners are not tipped and you did give her 15% already.

I'm not so sure this is absolutely necessary, but it's definitely a VERY nice gesture if you do decide to do this!! Chat Icon

I once forgot to tip extra at the salon during the holidays (literally the day before Christmas Chat Icon ) and I felt bad! I went back with a box of chocolates! I felt bad because it was a place I had been going to for years, and I normally do tip extra around the holidays.........

Re: question on tipping

That sounds fine to me. I usually tip my hairdresser (who owns the salon) 20% but your tip was very close anyway :)
