Re: convertible crib question
The twin mattress is way to big for daybed mode. The only way to get the length of the twin mattress is with the twin-size mattress supports (rails or frame).

Jen I may be wrong but I would think that you would just take the front piece (the "footboard" piece) and then it turns into a day bed with the crib mattress? I know with my crib that what happens and then I think they sell rails that I can put so baby doesn't roll off and onto the floor. I "think" that's what I have to do... Oh man I shoul dlook into it too.

A daybed IS a toddler bed. It sounds like you have all the pieces you need for each conversion, except for a full size mattress after the final conversion. The crib mattress is used for the daybed/toddler bed.

so what if i wanted to use a twin mattress when she "outgrows" the crib mattress instead of going to the full mattress right away? is that even possible?

No. There's no way to use a twin mattress. There's no dimension of the crib that will accommodate a twin mattress. The full mattress width is the same as the crib mattress length, that's why it works. The twin mattress is way too long to go the way the toddler bed is set up, and way too narrow for the full size format.
