Caffeine and breastfeeding?
Is there a problem with caffeine and breastfeeding? I had some coffee today and now my baby is in a weird mood. Kind of fussy, but not in her usual way. Right now, I put her to bed and she is usually asleep by now, but she is up in her bassinet. She is not exactly crying or anything, but it is unusual for her to be awake at this time. I have had coffee before and she never really seemed like this. Perhaps she is just changing but its so hard to know?
Does anyone else who breastfeeds drink coffee (or avoids coffee)? Do you have any issues with this?

funny story... when my ds was a month old i had a cup of coffee at my parents house and pumped right after... i gave ds that bottle since it was already warm... and he was WIRED that night... so we determined that coffee bottles must go to the morning bottle side.... it didnt effect his mood but did keep him WIDE awake

I am a crazy coffee person, lol, but I didn't drink any while I was prego and while I was breast feeding DD for 7 months. I also didn't drink anything that had caffeine in it, like tea and soda (not a big soda person anyway)

I can have 1 cup of coffee and Alexa is fine... I think each baby is different on how they react to it

I have a cup of caffinated coffee everyday. I also had a cup of caffinated coffee while I was pregnant. Never had an issue, but then again I never knew anything different. Maybe because my baby is use to a certain amount of caffine and yours may not have been acclimated to the caffine.

I had to stop caffeine while I was BF. I found DD would be up a lot at night and would be cranky.

Me too - i couldn't survive the day without coffee - never seemed to affect him

I used to drink 1 cup in the morning and DS was fine. But the one time I drank more then that it did affect him. He would NOT sleep! lol
