spinoff to my own finger foods post?
Did you start when your ped gave you the green light or did you just experiment on your own...DD is not crawling yet, unless army crawling backwards is considered crawling Ped allowed me for unsalted large pretzle rods which kind of scare me and I would rather try puffs since they "melt".... she is sitting unsupported and she is turning 7 months on the 20th...

My ped gave us the go-ahead on puffs, zwiebacks etc at her 6 month visit and said we could start when we are ready...I am not ready and don't feel DD is either...My DS started on the early side (he had 4 teeth by 5 months)
and in general was more "mature" and I felt comfortable giving him broken puffs etc...You'll just know when its right...
The pretzel rod thing is  to me..I think my son was walking and then some before I offered him one..And even now, he has to be in front of me because they scare me...Thats one thing I'd definately hold off on

Yah I was surprised with that, and that he allowed me at her 5 month appt , not the sknny ones but the big rods, but still they break easily and he's normally a really conservative dr and she has no teeth yet, but I know they really gum and not chew
