WEIRD movement last night...
I’m 36 wks tomorrow…
Last night I was sitting on the couch watching TV and the top of my belly started moving rhythmically…almost as if, the baby was breathing in there and I could feel each breath..I know they practice breathe in there…or it felt like if you touch a baby’s back or stomach to make sure they are breathing and you could feel each breath…this went on for a good 20 minutes. I know what hiccups are like and this wasn’t it. Besides since he is head down I feel them down low lol…(according to my last sono on Tuesday, the baby is head down)
What the heck!?

Is it quite shallow - almost looked like YOU were panting? I've had this, it's almost spasmodic, and I know someone else who did also. She had asked a friend who was a dr specializing in Neurological development and apparently it's completely normal. It's the baby practicing its startle reflex, just like they practice breathing, etc.
 Freaked me out too!

Farah - yes - it looked like MY stomach was breathing but I knew it was coming from the baby..

jen i used to feel this too! only very late in the third tri. it felt exactly like the baby practicing breathing and since i had seen it on the sono i knew what it was. so cool right?
